Dream A Dream UK

Dream a Dream UK, established in 2012, is an independent charity that is inspired by the work of Dream a Dream, India.

Since 1999, Dream a Dream India’s programmes and partnerships have helped thousands of children and young people to overcome adversity, make healthy life-choices and break the cycle of poverty.

But Covid 19 has had a devastating effect on children and young people everywhere and for over 125m young spirits in India it has been a crushing blow. Schools and educational institutions have been closed for face to face teaching since March 2020. To keep food on the table many have gone back to poor villages or to work in menial jobs in urban centres.

In 2021, Dream a Dream, India has decided to up its game. Education in India is devolved to the states. Relying on its credibility, transparency and world-wide acknowledged outcomes Dream a Dream, India’s ambition is to change educational policy for the very poorest and most vulnerable, by working with state governments to change the learning experience. Out of a total of 29, five states have signed up and another 3 are in the pipeline.

Programmes for working directly with children will continue to inform these high impact efforts with state governments.

Donations in the UK come from individuals, family foundations, as well as grants and are eligible for gift aid. 100% of all money received goes directly to India.

To donate in the UK and benefit from Gift Aid, contact Kunku Soota, Chair of Trustees (kunku.soota@gmail.com).

All trustees are volunteers and all running expenses of the charity are funded by board members.
