It was a day of pride, fun, celebration; it was a big day- it was, “Dream Graduation Day”.
252 graduates from our partner schools and NGOs who completed a year in Dream Life Skills Development Programmes were felicitated this day.
Preparations for the event had begun well ahead of time. Everyone was engaged in making the event a grand success; facilitators created beautiful illustrations and designs, volunteers supported in almost everything, the staffs were taking time-off for supporting the preparations throughout. Overall, it was a coming together of wonderful people and creative ideas for a special event.
All set, we rolled on to the day- 3rd March. Everything was set and we were ready for the-“Lights, Camera, Action”, that’s how we start in Dream A Dream. Everything was set – the stalls, stage, music system, microphones, lunch, etc.
Students arrived at the venue with their facilitators. The chief guest for the day was Mr. Raman Santhanakrishnan, Managing Director, LSI. He inspired the gathering with his short address. After a small opening song by the students from Annaswamy School, the first round of felicitations started. Mr. Raman gave away the certificates. There was a dance performance by the boys of Excellent English School (RAZA), a small skit from Round Table School and a mimicry performance by a Dream A Dream facilitator, Lokesh.
The next rounds of felicitations were presented by Mr. Vishal Talreja. After the felicitations children moved to the different stalls, named Cup knock down, Portrait puzzle race, Clay throwing, Face painting, Coin drop, and Ring toss. Facilitators, volunteers and staff took care of the stalls. Exciting as they sound, each stall saw a huge rush of children, they were everywhere! After hours of fun, children were driven back to their respective schools from where they would go home with their parents.
Finally, the day was called off with last pictures been captured to preserve the memory of a proud moment and the coming together of wonderful people.
More than anything, it’s all about the smiles on the faces of these young ‘stars in the making’ who graduated from our programmes. We wish for them to come out with flying colors in life.
“Dream Graduation” is an annual event organized by Dream A Dream where we felicitate the young people (Graduates, as we call them) who had been part of Dream Life Skills Development Programmes in our partner schools and NGOs.
